God bless you, and all of your loved ones…

It’s with our deepest regret that we report that Roger Gates, one of Street Roots more popular vendors has passed away.

Street Roots is in the process of working with the Gates family and friends to hold a memorial service at time to be announced.

A special page will be dedicated to Roger in the Street Roots coming out on Friday July 25.

For questions please contact Israel Bayer at 503-228-5657. We will be announcing a memorial service in the coming days. Time and date for the service will be posted at Trader Joe’s Northwest and through the Street Roots blog.

  1. He welcomed me to the office and always had a kind “have a good day” whenever we saw one another. He would quietly come and go and I would often see the back of him, too late to wish him well, too. Here’s my “have a good day,” Roger, until we meet again…

  2. It is very evident that my Uncle Roger had a second family in Street Roots. He will be missed by everyone who came in contact with him. I find great comfort in knowing he is now in the arms of Jesus and that I will get to see him again.

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
    Psalm 42:1-2

  3. I cried when I read the Street Roots announcement that Roger had died. I lived in NW for 3 years, and he was a such a part of that community, such a regular face in my life–and many there. His gentle soul and infectious smile will be greatly missed.
